Basic Will $750.00

Our package includes a Will, Enduring Power of Attorney (a document that allows someone to take care of your finances if you are incapicitated), and Personal Directive (a document that sets out your medical wishes, and allows someone to make your medical decisions if you are incapciated). These fees include a very basic set of instructions for each of these documents (ie. I want everything to go to my wife, and then my kids.) We will notify you if the instructions you have provided require a higher fee before proceeding.

Grant of Probate / Admin $1,500.00 (plus court filing fees, which vary)

In order to legally step into the shoes of a deceased person, whether you are named in a Will as an executor or are the person granted that right by intestacy laws, typically a grant is required to be issued from the Surrogate Court of Alberta. We can handle this process for you. These fees include everything up to obtaining the grant from the court. Please note that the Estate Administration Act (Alberta) has certain requirements beyond simply obtaining a grant, and the fees for guiding you through this process will vary depending on the complexity of the estate.
